"I absolutely love what I do and my passion for my profession grows every day. Seeing people's lives change through this sport and our programs is the most remarkable feeling.  I have had MANY students meet and even get married from class.  Now their children are starting to get involved in the sport with us.  I see students self-confidence and self-esteem grow every day.  I love being part of that.  I enjoy the evolution the game has undergone over the last three decades and my passion for the game continues as I see my students share the same infatuation with the game that I' have.  There is no greater job I can think of in life... with the exception of being the father of my little girl."  Steven Ijams

Steven teaches Intermediate through Advanced Training as well as all three Jump Training Programs.  Along with being a professional instructor, Steven owns and operates a small business for web design/development and print advertising called Ijams Designs

Randy Schwartz

Randy has been with South Bay Volleyball since 2004. He started training with us as a student in 1997.  Since then, he has become an amazingly dynamic trainer. He has logged over 1300 hours of instruction.

"It's been such an amazing experience to see how much Randy has grown as both a player and an instructor since he started with us.  He literally was there from the beginning of South Bay Volleyball.  Since I've started training Randy, the game has evolved so much.  He has a strong knowledge of both the old school and new school methods of the game which is now so apparent in his coaching style."... Steven Ijams

Randy currently teaches our Beginner and Intermediate level classes.  Outside of South Bay Volleyball, Randy is also a professional photographer at Randy Schwartz Photography.

Kurt Turley

Coach Kurt is our most recent addition to the SBV Team.  Similar to Coach Sarah, Kurt started as a blank canvas in our Beginners classes.  In just 3 years, Coach Kurt has worked up the ladder from our beginners class, through SBV advanced training programs to where he has earned respect from both his peers, his athletes, as well as the coaching staff.  Coach Kurt has phenomenal athleticism and the ability to process information he takes in and immediately apply it.

"It's very rare that I find an athlete that picks up the game as fast as our past and current athletes/coaches like Ryan Stunts, Sarah Makhija, Becky Shea, Danny Wagner and Jake Dillard.  He has an insatiable hunger for knowledge.  Some athletes just seem to process and apply at an unusual rate.  His  progression is so fast that he can practically execute and apply from the instant I provide feedback.  Another rarity is that Kurt, similar to Ryan and Becky, has limitless "bandwidth' in his learning process from coach to athlete. meaning, there is little to no resistance or hesitation on my feedback.  I feel like Kurt has taken his strengths as an athlete and is using them as strengths as an instructor.  We are very happy to have Coach Kurt join us"... Steven Ijams

Kurt currently holds a CBVA B player rating and teaches our Beginner and Intermediate level classes and shares the same passion for the game as all of our team members.

Michael Bradigan

Coach Bradigan is our most recent addition to the SBV Team. It was an interesting and unusual circumstance that Coach Bradigan became an official SBV Staff member.  Michael was highly skilled when he arrived to us as an athlete.  Within 6 months of his training, he suffered a foot injury that took him out of training for the next 6 months.  His passion and hunger for knowledge didn't keep him away and he showed up to just every one of our classes and dozens of private lessons to assist the coaches in any way he could.  During this time we discover his his passion to help others.  Armed with an exceptional education, his passion for the game, charisma and a strong nurturing side, we jumped at the chance to invite him to do our SBV apprenticeship. He eagerly accepted.  After completing our rigorous 4 month process, he not only exceeded our expectations, he's gained the respect from our current staff members, our athletes as well as his peers.

"LUCK!  That is only way to describe how we were able to get Coach Bradigan.  His high energy, incredible charisma, thirst, drive, and passion for the game combined with his now keen eye and education, makes for a truly ideal coach.  We are just plain lucky!"... Steven Ijams

Michael currently teaches our juniors, beginners and Intermediate level classes..
